"She knows what ballet is all about, and has trained with the best and danced the best with the best. Sallyann not only understands cutting edge dance technique, but also is able to demonstrate it. As a performer she ate up the stage, dancing powerfully and creatively. She is an artist of the highest caliber."

Finis Jhung, Master Teacher, Director Chamber Ballet USA, NY, NY

"Sallyann, a woman with an abundance of extraordinary talent and an honest glowing heart. Thanks for being who you are, bringing joy and happiness to so many. Your choreographic talents are very individual, inventive and original. You will leave a dance legacy with your choreography and teaching so go for it!"

Dr. Arnold Spohr, Director Emeritus, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

Sallyann Mulcahy, Director, Artisan Dance

Sallyann Mulcahy is the founder of Artisan Dance, master teacher, coach and choreographer. She was born in Helena, MT. where she left at an early age to pursue a professional career in ballet. Her list of dance companies includes Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Finis Jhung's Chamber Ballet USA in New York City and the New Jersey Ballet. She has been recognized for her artistry and technical accomplishments in soloist and principal performance.

Dancers are drawn to her from around the nation for her skills as a teacher and coach of classical ballet, for respite and rehabilitation from injury caused by the fast-paced dance world and for her choreography based on a pure classical foundation inspired by the freedom and eclectic energies of contemporary dance.

Her work is inspired and mentored by Dr. Arnold Spohr, Director Emeritus of The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Finis Jhung, Wilhelm Burman and Robert Fitzgerald of New York and Natalia Zolotova, formerly with the Choreographic Institute of Moscow. In addition to these and many more great teachers, Sallyann's choreography has been influenced by her work with some of the world's most prominent choreographers of the last century including Agnes DeMille, Anthony Tudor, John Butler, Rudi Van Danzig, Vincente Nebrada, Oscar Ariaz and Robert North.

Thanks from the dancers...

"Coming here has illuminated my spirit and I feel a passion for ballet again. Thank you for believing in me and helping me see something beautiful in myself. As dancers we need more people like you out there. My world sparkles and burns with light."

"I've finally begun to understand what I'm here for, not just to accept the gifts I have been given with a smile but to surrender to the love that inspires these gifts. And now, with me feet planted proudly in the ground of my work, I can stand with my arms fully extended, chest vulnerably open to this embrace that I am finally able to return with all the love and power that I have accepted."

"The second evening here I closed my eyes and saw yours. It was then I knew magic flourishes here. Faith in potential, faith in life, faith in sharing... I've stumbled into humanity's religion and I feel blessed!"

"I was broken and hopeless but able to trust you because we had a common bond; our love for the art of dance. The only thing left in the world for me to love was the work we did together. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do: finding the strength to hope and dream again. You believed in me for some reason and gave me what I needed to survive the aftermath."
